Marquetry made easy... after three decades of woodwork.  People ask me how I fell into the obscure art of marquetry.  There is no simple answer, no "aha" moment that I can mark on the calendar as the day I started making little wooden pictures.  When I was very young, there was a neighbor named Carl who made an inlay serving tray.  Maybe I picked up the idea from him.  What I do know is I made my first piece of marquetry in 1985; Pegasus, the flying horse.  I sat at my kitchen table with a line drawing, an xacto knife and some gray stained...
